Are the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns going to be good enough in 2019 to play in their second-consecutive bowl game, and 7th in the last 8 years?

Well, at least one major media outlet seems to think so.

ESPN projects Louisiana to play in the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, which is scheduled for Saturday, December 21, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La..

Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach both project the Cajuns to play in the New Orleans Bowl. Bonagura projects their opponent to be FAU, while Schlabach says UL will face Southern Miss in the game.

Yes, it's way too early for bowl projections, but these are fun, and it helps get you ready for the rest of the season.

UL went 7-7 last season, their first under head coach Billy Napier, including a spot in the inaugural Sun Belt Conference Championship Game, a 30-19 setback to Appalachian St., as well as a 41-24 loss to Tulane in the Cure Bowl.

Louisiana dropped their season-opener on Saturday, falling to the Mississippi St. Bulldogs, 38-28, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Cajuns host Liberty in their 2019 home opener on Saturday night at Cajun Field.

Also of note; the duo splits on LSU, with Bonagura projecting the Tigers to play in the Sugar Bowl, while Schlabach has them in the Orange Bowl.

The tandem also disagrees on their respective 4-team College Football Playoff Field, with Bonagura projecting Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Ohio St., while Schlabach likes Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Georgia.
