Take note of this one if you're heading to Navarre Beach or Destin, FL this summer.

A 10-foot great white shark was reportedly caught off the pier in Navarre Beach this week. The shark was ultimately tagged and released, which means its still out there.

The 700-pound shark put up a fight, but after it was reeled in, those who caught it were able to release it and send it back into the Gulf of Mexico.

According to NOLA.com, this is the first great white caught off of this pier.

We have stayed in this area many times, and I can't recall ever hearing a shark this size being so close to the beach.

I will certainly have this in the back of mind when I approach the Emerald Gulf Coast this summer.
