Top seeded Florida jumped out to an early lead, then held off a Texas Tech rally en route to a 9-6 win, eliminating the Red Raiders from the College World Series.

Florida jumped out to a 5-0 lead, helped by a two run homer by Jonathan India.  In the meantime,  Jack Leftwich survived a rocky start to keep Texas Tech off the board.  Leftwich was at 50 pitches through the first two innings, but settled down and pitched six shutout innings.

India's home run was the 100th of the year for Florida.

He left with runners at first and third in the seventh and both inherited runners scored as the Raiders tallied three runs in the bottom of the seventh to cut the lead to 5-3.

Florida struck back with three in the eighth but Texas Tech wasn't finished, scoring three times in the bottom of the eighth.  Florida scored an insurance run in the ninth to put the game away.

Florida will now play #5 seed Arkansas Friday night, needing to beat the Razorbacks twice to advance to the championship series.
