Will USC Hire Ed Orgeron on a Permanent Basis?
USC interim coach Ed Orgeron isn't a California guy.
But he'd love to stay in California.
Orgeron, who became the Trojans' head coach after USC fired Lane Kiffin, has led the Men of Troy to a 5-1 record, 5-0 in Pac-12 play. The latest win was the most impressive, a 20-17 win over then-number four Stanford. And, Orgeron says he'd like to be named USC's permanent head coach.
USC also remains mathematically alive for the South division title. The Trojans (8-3, 5-2) will play at Colorado this Saturday before meeting UCLA.
ESPN.com reports Orgeron is very popular among the players at USC, many of whom have made it clear they'd like to see Orgeron get the job.
However, USC has already interviewed one of their own, Jack Del Rio, who is serving as interim head coach of the Denver Broncos while John Fox recovers from heart surgery.
