In 2008, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees fell a mere 15 yards short of breaking Dan Marino's single-season record for passing yards, when he threw for 5, 069.

Now, in 2011, Brees is making another run at the record.

This season, Brees has thrown for 4,031 yards, the most of any NFL quarterback ever through 12 games.

With games left against Tennessee, Minnesota, Atlanta, and Carolina, Brees needs to average 264 yards over the past four games to break Marino’s record of 5,084 yards.

Will Brees do it, and set a new mark?
