Wilfork Tears Achilles, Likely Out for Season

The New England Patriots suffered a big blow in Sunday night's win over Atlanta when perennial Pro-Bowler Vince Wilfork went down with a torn achilles tendon.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick says it's likely Wilfork will not play again this season.

Wilfork was injured on the Atlanta Falcons' first possession last night and did not return to the game.  He was taken off the field on a cart.  New England was already thin at that position with Armond Armstead on the non-football injury list.

The Patriots play at Cincinnati this week.
