Wide Open Field? Kentucky Derby Could Be Wet Track
The 143rd Kentucky Derby is scheduled for Saturday at Churchill Downs Saturday afternoon and what is considered to be an open field could get even more uncertain.
There's a 60% chance of rain in the forecast.
Most of the entries have never run on a wet track and that will mean a lot of unknowns if the weather forecast winds up being accurate.
The latest betting lines show four horses, Classic Empire, Always Dreaming, McCraken and Irish War Cry anywhere from 4-1 to 6-1 odds.
