Louisiana cornerback Melvin White has been named the special-teams Player of the Week by the Sun Belt Conference.

White's 68-yard return of a blocked field goal was the momentum changer in Saturday's game against Nicholls State.  White's play broke a 14-14 tie and the Cajuns outscored the Colonels 24-7 after the block.

White also had three tackles on defense, including a half-sack and forced a fumble that led to the Cajuns' first score.

It's the second straight week that a Cajun has won the special-teams award.  Kicker/Punter Bret Baer was last week's recipient.
