Which UL Games Are On What Station? How About High School Playoffs? Here Is A Weekend Rundown

We’ve got two high school playoff basketball games, 3 UL baseball games, 5 UL softball games, and a men/women UL basketball DH on Sunday. Add Mardi Gras weekend to the mix, and we’ve got a busy schedule.

Here is a rundown of all local programming this weekend, and which station to catch it on.

Friday, February 28th

UL softball: Cajuns vs. Baylor Bears, 4:45 pregame, 5:00 first pitch (ESPN1420 & ESPN1420.com) Steve Peloquin has the call. (UL won earlier on Friday vs UTSA by the score of 6-2)

UL baseball: Cajuns vs. Alabama Crimson Tide, 6:00 first pitch (NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL & kpel965.com) Jay Walker has the call.

STM playoff basketball: STM Cougars vs. Franklinton, 5:50 pregame, 6:00 tip (Talk Radio 960am & talkradio960.com) Bobby Neveaux has the call.

LCA playoff basketball: Lafayette Christian Academy Knights vs. Varnado, 7:00 tip (ESPN1420 & ESPN1420.com) “Big” Dave Thibodeaux and Mike “The Bandit” Bernard have the call. In the event that UL softball vs. Baylor is still being played, the broadcast of LCA will air on a delay.

Saturday, March 1rst

The Mr. Bitter show will air in it’s normal time slot, from 8-11am, on ESPN1420 and ESPN1420.com. Mr. Bitter will interview Ragin’ Cajun head baseball coach Tony Robichaux.

UL baseball: Cajuns vs. Alabama Crimson Tide, 1:30 pregame, 2:00 first pitch (NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL & kpel965.com) Jay Walker has the call.

UL softball: Cajuns play a doubleheader vs. Chattanooga and Ohio. 2:15 pregame, 2:30 first pitch (ESPN1420 & ESPN1420.com) Steve Peloquin has the call.

Sunday, March 2nd

Big Time Sports Talk with “Big” Dave Thibodeaux and Mike “The Bandit” Bernard will air an hour earlier than normal, beginning at 9am, on ESPN1420 & ESPN1420.com. They will sign-off at 10:15, which marks the beginning of UL softball pregame.

UL softball: Cajuns vs. Memphis Tigers, 10:15 pregame, 10:30 first pitch (ESPN1420 & ESPN1420.com) Steve Peloquin has the call.

UL baseball: Cajuns vs. Alabama Crimson Tide, 12:30 pregame, 1:00 first pitch (NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL & kpel965.com) Scott Prather has the call.

UL men’s basketball: Cajuns vs South Alabama, 2:30 pregame, 3:00 tip-off (ESPN1420, ESPN1420.com, Hot 107.9 FM, 1079isHOT.com) Jay Walker has the call.

UL women’s basketball: Cajuns vs South Alabama, 4:45 pregame, 5:15 tip-off (ESPN1420, ESPN1420.com) Jay Walker has the call.
