The latest LHSAA high school football power rankings are out.

Many Acadiana area schools look to be in good shape, following the completion of week 8 of their respective schedules, with now only 2 weeks remaining in the regular season.

Keep in mind, 32 teams qualify for the playoffs in each of the Non-Select divisions, while the Select divisions will feature a different numbers of teams in their respective brackets.

We'll begin with the Non-Select Division.

In Class 5A, Acadiana, following their first loss of the season last week, is at #3 in this week's power ratings.

Comeaux is currently the only other local school in the top 32, at #30, and looks to be in good shape for a potential playoff spot.

Sitting just outside of the top 32, with a little a ground to make up, is New Iberia at #34, while  Lafayette High is at #47.

In Class 4A, Rayne is the highest rated local team this week, at #10, with Cecilia (#18), Carencro(#19), Westgate (#23), Opelousas (#29), Breaux Bridge (#31), and St. Martinville (#32) also in the top 32.

Outside of the top 32 are Beau Chene (#35) and Northside (#42) needing to make up precious ground.

In Class 3A, Church Point is the highest rated local team this week, at #4, but a number of other Acadiana area schools are in the top 32, including Kaplan (#10), Northwest (#11), Iota (#16), North Vermilion (#20), Crowley (#21), and Eunice (#25).

Currently outside of the top 32 are Pine Prairie (#34), Erath (#37), Abbeville (#38), Mamou (#45), and Port Barre (#48).

In Class 2A, Loreauville is the highest rated local team this week, at #23, with Jeanerette right behind, at #27.

Outside of the top 32 this week are Ville Platte (#34), Franklin (#38), and Delcambre (#40).

Wrapping up the Non-Select divisions, we go to Class 1A, where North Central (#26) and Gueydan (#27) are fighting for seeding in the state playoffs.

Now, we move we move on to the Select divisions.

In Division II, St. Thomas More, at #4, is the highest rated local team this week, while Teurlings checks in at #7.

In Division III, Notre Dame tops the ratings this week, with Catholic-New Iberia #3, and Ascension Episcopal at #6.

Finally, in Division IV, where 16 teams make the playoffs, Vermilion Catholic is the top-rated team this week, with Opelousas Catholic at #4, St. Edmund at #6, Lafayette Christian at #7, and Sacred Heart of Ville Platte at #8.

Outside of the top 16 are Hanson Memorial (#17), Highland Baptist (#18), and Westminster Christian (#22).
