The Washington Nationals introduced their newly signed acquisition, starting pitcher Max Scherzer, on Wednesday.

The Nationals recently signed the right-hander to a seven-year, $210 million contract.

The 30-year old Scherzer, who began his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks, spent the last five years with the Detroit Tigers, compiling an overall record of 82-35, along with a 3.52 ERA.

Scherzer was named the American League Cy Young Award in 2012 after going 21-3 with a 2.90 ERA., and followed that up last year by going 18-5 with a 3.15 ERA.
