Louisiana Ragin' Cajun basketball received good news yesterday when first-team All Sun-Belt big man Shawn Long announced that he would return to UL for his senior season, rather than declare for the NBA draft.

With several new signees, and the return of Long, Cajun forward Vieux Kande will reportedly be leaving UL's program. The news was first reported by ESPN basketball insider Jeff Goodman.

Tim Buckley of The Advertiser later reported coach Bob Marlin's confirmation that Kande was departing.

Kande spent two years with Louisiana, seldomly seeing the floor. The Senegal native saw action in 20 of a possible 36 games last season, averaging 3.2 minutes per game, 1.1 points, and 0.7 rebounds.
