A week after the Vermilion Catholic Screamin' Eagles were eliminated from the Division IV playoffs at the hands of Lafayette Christian Academy 30-28 on a late field goal, they've lost their head coach.

Brady Thomas has stepped down as Head Football Coach at Vermilion Catholic. It's been cited that the reason he's stepping down after one very successful season at the helm has to do with personal reasons.

The 28 year old from Aledo, Texas turned around a team that was 4-6 last year and got them to 8-2 this season with a deep run in the playoffs that ended with that heartbreaking loss in the semifinals to LCA. It's reported that Thomas has since moved back to his hometown of Aledo.

You'll remember Brady Thomas as the former quarterback of the Ragin' Cajuns and four year graduate assistant.

Vermilion Catholic will begin the search for a replacement immediately but Principal Mike Guilbeaux has said that there is no timetable in which to name the next coach.

The next coach will be the fifth the program has had since 2011 and they're hoping they can find some stability in the position moving forward.
