Desherra Nwanguma scored a career high 34 points and had her fifth double double in her last six games to lead Texas-Arlington to a 73-54 win over Louisiana at the College Park Center in Arlington Texas.

Nwanguma added 13 rebounds and three blocked shots for the Mavericks, who outscored the Cajuns 41-23 in the second half.

UTA (3-18. 2-8 Sun Belt) led by only one point at halftime, 32-31.  But Malaika Green hit back to back three point shots for the Mavericks.  Louisiana got a triple from Sylvana Okde, the 24th straight game in which she's had a three point basket.  But Briana Walker scored on an old fashioned three point play to get the lead back to eight points and the Cajuns (10-11, 3-7) never threatened after that.

Walker added ten points for UTA; the only other Maverick to score in double figures.  UTA shot 56.3% for the game and 60% (15-25) in the second half.

Louisiana was led by Jaylyn Gordon's 13 points.  Robbie Brown added eleven.  Brooklyn Arceneaux led the Cajuns in rebounds with six, but the Cajuns were outrebounded for the game 42-27.

Louisiana forced 24 turnovers in the game and had a 27-15 edge in points off turnovers.  But the Cajuns couldn't overcome ice cold shooting at UL shot 29.7% (19-64) for the contest.

The Cajuns will conclude their two game road trip this Saturday at Texas State at 2pm.
