The Ragin' Cajuns Basketball team just signed a 4-star recruit out of high school, and he played in a big conference. USC's Malik Marquetti is headed to Lafayette.

Bob Marlin and his coaching staff locked down the 6'6" guard, who was voted one of the team captains on his Trojan squad before deciding to transfer, to fill a need at the guard position. With a ton of production leaving the roster, the Cajuns could use another ball handler with a knack for distributing.

He played in every game for USC in 2014-15, and he started 15 times as a freshman. He competed in the PAC-12, a power five conference, but he didn't start in 2016, and his numbers went down despite his role as a captain. Clearly, it wasn't the Compton native's leadership skills that were the issue at USC, but sometimes things don't work out.

Regardless of the circumstances, Marquetti's commitment to the Cajuns is huge. As a freshman at USC, he was a top five statistical contributor in steals, assists, rebounds and three-pointers.

Speaking of Washington, they took to Twitter recently to let fans know that this year is going to be special. Stove reminded the fans that they will be playing for their fallen brother, Herman Williams, all season long, and Washington simply reminded everyone they haven't seen his best yet.
