There were four Sun Belt games played on Saturday and two of them ended in upsets.  It was a good week for the home teams, which won all of the league games played.

GEORGIA SOUTHERN 28, ARKANSAS STATE 21--Wesley Kennedy III scored on a reverse with :19 left to play Saturday as Georgia Southern upset league favorite Arkansas State.  The Red Wolves (3-2, 0-1) had just tied the game on a Justice Hansen run before the winning drive.  Shai Werts rushed for 113 yards and threw a touchdown pass for the Eagles (3-1, 1-0).

GEORGIA STATE 46, ULM 14--Georgia State (2-3, 1-0) rushed for a school record 308 yards and Penny Hart returned a punt for a touchdown to lead the Panthers' rout over ULM (2-3, 0-2).  Dan Ellington completed 15-18 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 64 yards and another score.  The Panthers' defense shut out the Warhawks in the second half.

TROY 45, COASTAL CAROLINA 24--It was a big day on the ground for the Trojans (4-1, 2-0) as Jabir Daughtry-Frye and B. J. Smith combined for over 240 yards rushing.  Marcus Jones returned the opening kickoff 96 yards for a score.  Bryce Carpenter threw for 172 yards and a touchdown for the Chanticleers (3-2, 1-1) who were harrassed by Troy's defense all day, giving up nine sacks.

APPALACHIAN STATE 52, SOUTH ALABAMA 7--Jalin Moore rushed for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the Mountaineers (3-1, 1-0) to the win.  Quarterback Zac Thomas threw for two touchdowns and passed for two more in the win.  App State scored touchdowns on its first five possessions in building a 42-7 halftime lead.  South Alabama (1-4, 1-1) was led by Evan Orth's 225 yards passing.

This week, Troy hosts Georgia State Thursday night in an ESPNU game, South Alabama is at Georgia Southern, Louisiana is at Texas State and ULM is at Ole Miss.  Arkansas State and App State take Saturday off in anticipation of their Tuesday night showdown in Jonesboro.  Coastal Carolina has the week off.
