UL Women’s Basketball Loses To Arkansas St., 55-52-Game Recap
Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team fell on the road in Sun Belt Conference on Saturday, dropping a 55-52 decision to the Arkansas St. Red Wolves, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
The loss was the ninth-straight for the Cajuns, and the 10th in their last 11 games.
The Red Wolves led it at the half, 29-18, before the Cajuns cut the lead to 53-52 at the 1:09 mark of the second half.
Arkansas St. was able to hang-on however, and escape with the three-point win.
Louisiana was able to out-shoot Arkansas St. from the field, 42%-31%, but also turned the ball over 23 times, compared to only 13 for ASU.
Jane Morrill led the Red Wolves, with a game-high 16 points, while Krystal Motley and Megan Whitaker paced the Cajuns, with 11 points each.
With the win, Arkansas St. improved to 8-12 overall, and 2-5 in Sun Belt Conference play, while UL fell to 5-14 overall, and 0-7 in league play.
