Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team is back in action on Thursday afternoon, when coach Garry Brodhead’s squad travels to Statesboro, Georgia to take on the Georgia Southern Eagles in a Sun Belt Conference affair.

Tip-off time is scheduled for 4 o’clock, and you can hear the game on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com, beginning with the pregame show at 3:45 pm.

The game will mark the third conference road game of the year for the Cajuns, and will be the opening game of a day/night, women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL men taking on Georgia Southern about 35 minutes following the women’s tilt.

Louisiana, who defeated Georgia St., 68-52, last Thursday, is 9-4, overall, and 1-3 in league play, while Georgia Southern, who defeated South Alabama, 67-53, last Saturday, is currently 4-9, and 1-3, respectively.

Following tonight’s game, UL will play their next three at home.

The Cajuns are out-scoring the opposition, 60.8/57.1, while being out-shot by foes from the floor, 40.3%/36.9%, and out-rebounded 37.8/36.6.

Louisiana is paced by sophomore guard Jaylin Gordon, who leads the team in scoring, at 14.3 points-per-game, and junior guard Kia Wilridge, who is second on the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists at 12.8, 4.8, and 2.8, respectively.

The Eagles are being out-scored by the opposition, 69.0/62.2, out-shot by foes, 40.2%/38.1%, and out-rebounded, 41.7/39.1.

Georgia Southern is paced by sophomore guard Angel McGowan, who is averaging 11.9 points, to go along with 2.6 rebounds a contest, and sophomore forward Patrice Butler, who is averaging 10.9 points and 4.4 rebounds-per-game.

This will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
