Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team picked up a non-conference home win on Wednesday night, defeating the Southern University-New Orleans Lady Knights, 71-49, at Earl K. Long Gym.

Louisiana led at half, 36-20, and then coasted to the 22-point win.

The Lady Knights were able to out-shoot the Cajuns from the field, 37%-34%, but Louisiana held a 42-35 rebound advantage, and also forced 29 Southern-New Orleans turnovers.

Leading the way for Louisiana was freshman guard Sylvana Okde, who poured in a game-high 20 points, with Kia Wilridge adding 15, and Jasmin Mills chipping in with 14, while Sabrina Scott paced the Lady Knights in losing cause, with 17.

With the victory, the Cajuns improved to 3-3 on the year, while Southern-New Orleans fell to 3-2.

Louisiana returns to play on Saturday, when they travel to take on North Texas in Sun Belt Conference action.
