Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team is back in action on Saturday, when coach Garry Brodhead’s squad travels to Atlanta, Georgia to take on the Georgia St. Panthers in a Sun Belt Conference affair.

Tip-off time is scheduled for 11 am, and you can hear the game on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com. Catch the pregame, beginning at 10:45.

The game will be the opening game of a three-game road trip for the Cajuns, and will be the opening game of a women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL men taking on Georgia St. at 1:15.

Louisiana, who has won four of their last five, defeated Arkansas St., 69-57, on Thursday night, to move to 12-5, overall, and 4-4 in league play, while Georgia St., who fell to  Arkansas St., 76-65, on Monday, is currently 8-9, and 3-5, respectively.

The Cajuns are out-scoring the opposition, 62.0/57.7, while being out-shot by foes from the floor, 41.3%/37.1%, and holding down a 37.4/37.3 rebounding advantage.

Louisiana is paced by sophomore guard Jaylin Gordon, who leads the team in scoring, at 13.3 points-per-game, and junior guard Kia Wilridge, who is second on the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists at 13.2, 5.1, and 2.9, respectively.

The Panthers are out-scoring the opposition, 69.4/68.5, while being out-shot by foes, 40.3%/39.9%, and holding down a 40.3/38.2 rebounding edge.

Georgia St. is paced by freshman Makeba Ponder, who is averaging 11.4 points, to go along with 1.5 rebounds a contest, and senior center Brittany Logan, who is averaging 11.2 points and 9.1 rebounds-per-game.

Louisiana leads the all-time series, 2-1, including a 68-52 win back on January 8 in Lafayette in the first of two meetings this year.
