Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team is back in action on Thursday, when coach Garry Brodhead’s squad travels to Troy, Alabama to take on the Troy Trojans in a Sun Belt Conference affair.

Tip-off time is scheduled for 2 o'clock, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on our sister-station, Talk-Radio 960 AM and talkradio960.com, beginning with the pregame show at 1:45 pm.

The contest will be the first game of a women’s/men's doubleheader, with the UL men taking on Troy about 35 minutes following the completion of the women’s game.

Louisiana, who has won eight of their last 11, defeated ULM in double-overtime, 68-65, on Thursday night, to improve to 16-7, overall, and 8-6 in league play, while Troy, who defeated South Alabama, 78-67, on Thursday, is currently 14-9, and 9-5, respectively.

UL is currently in fifth-place in the Sun Belt Conference standings, only one game out of third-place, while Troy is in a two-way tie for third-place, one game in front of the Cajuns.

The Cajuns are out-scoring the opposition, 62.4/59.3, while being out-shot by foes from the floor, 41.8%/36.2%, and out-rebounded, 38.2/37.6.

Louisiana is paced by sophomore guard Jaylin Gordon, who leads the team in scoring, at 14.5 points-per-game, and junior guard Keke Veal, who is second on the team in scoring, and first in assists, at 12.6 and 3.4, respectively.

The Trojans are out-scoring the opposition, 76.5/74.0, while being out-shot by foes from the floor, 42.2%/40.0%, and out-rebounded, 45.8/42.3.

Troy is paced junior guard Ashely Beverly-Kelley, who is averaging 16.4 points and 4.4 rebounds-per-game, and senior forward Ronita Garrett, who is averaging 15.3 points and 10.5 rebounds a contest.

The Trojans defeated the Cajuns, 65-60, back on January 3 at the Cajundome.
