Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team is back in action on Wednesday morning, when coach Garry Brodhead’s squad plays host to the nationally-ranked Mississippi Bulldogs in a non-conference affair between two unbeaten squads.

Tip-off time at the Cajundome is scheduled for 11 am, and you can hear the game on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com, beginning with the pregame show at 10:45 am.

Louisiana, who is a perfect 6-0 on the young season, is coming off of a 58-52 win over Southern-New Orleans last Saturday, while Mississippi St., who defeated Mississippi Valley St., 104-41, on Monday night, is currently 11-0.

The 6-0 start for Louisiana matches the 1983-1984 team for the best start in program history.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 66.0/53.5, and out-shooting foes from the floor, 42.5.%/39.2%, while also holding down a 39.0/33.0 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by sophomore guard Jaylin Gordon, who leads the team in scoring, at 14.4 points-per-game, and junior guard Kia Wilridge, who is second on the team in scoring, and first in assists, at 12.8, and 3.3, respectively.

The Bulldogs are being outscoring the opposition, 87.7/55.5, and out-shooting foes, 42.6%/38.1%, while holding down a 45.8/35.6 rebounding advantage.

Mississippi St. is paced by freshman forward Victoria Vivians, who is averaging 16.8 points, to go along with 5.8 rebounds a contest, and freshman guard Morgan William, who is averaging 12.3 points and 1.2 rebounds-per-game.

Mississippi St. leads the all-time series, 8-0, including a 78-51 victory last season in Starkville, Mississippi.
