UL Women Host Jackson St.
UL senior guard Brandi Schambough
Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Monday evening, playing host to the Jackson St. Lady Tigers, in non-conference action at Earl K. Long Gym.
Louisiana hasn’t played since falling to the North Texas Mean Green, 71-59, on Saturday, December 1 in Denton, Texas, dropping the Cajuns to 3-4 overall, and 0-2 in Sun Belt Conference play.
Jackson St. also has been idle since December 1, when they fell to Eastern Kentucky, 64-56, dropping them to 2-5 on the season.
The Cajuns are led by freshman guard Sylvana Okde, who is averaging 13.0 points-per-game, while the Lady Tigers are paced by senior foward Tiffany Kellum, who is averaging 12.6 points a contest.
This will only be the second time that the two school have met on the basketball court, with Jackson St. winning the only previous meeting, 67-51, back in 1991.
Tip-off time is set for 7 o’clock.
