Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team returns to action on Thursday, when coach Garry Brodhead’s squad plays host to the Texas St. Bobcats in a Sun Belt Conference affair.

Tipoff time is set for 5 o’clock.

The game will mark the opening game of a men’s/women’s doubleheader, with the UL men taking on Texas St. later tonight.

The game also marks the third game of a five-game home stand trip for the Cajuns, who don’t hit the road again until Feb. 4.

Louisiana, who defeated Troy, 56-53, on Saturday, for their fourth-consecutive win, is 14-3 on the season, including a 7-1 Sun Belt Conference mark, while Texas St., who lost to Arkansas St., 74-59, also on Saturday, will enter the match-up with an overall record of 9-8, along with a 4-3 conference mark.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 66.5/55.1, and outshooting them from the floor, 42%/39%, while also holding down a 36.1/34.9 rebound advantage.

Louisiana is led by senior guard Keke Veal, who is averaging 15.4 points, to go along with 3.1 rebounds-per-game.

UL also features senior guard Kia Wilridge, who is averaging 12.8 points and 4.8 rebounds a contest.

Texas St. is being outscored by the opposition, 72.9/63.8, while being outshot by opponents, 46%/39%, and outrebounded, 41.4/36.4.

The Bobcats are led by sophomore guard Kaitlin Walla, who is averaging 12.3 points and 4.4 rebounds a contest.
