Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team is back in action on Thursday, when coach Garry Brodhead’s squad plays host to the Arkansas St. Red Wolves in a Sun Belt Conference affair at the Cajundome.

Tip-off time is scheduled for 5 o’clock, and you can hear the game on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com, beginning with the pregame show at 4:45 pm.

The game will be the final game of a three-game homestand for the Cajuns, and will be the opening game of a day/night, women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL men taking on Arkansas St. about 35 minutes following the women’s tilt.

Louisiana, who has won three of their last four, fell to ULM, 67-60, in overtime, on Saturday, is 11-5, overall, and 3-4 in league play, while Arkansas St. who beat Georgia St., 76-65, on Monday, is currently 12-6, and 7-1, respectively.

The Cajuns are out-scoring the opposition, 61.6/57.8, and being out-shot by foes from the floor, 41.0%/36.8%, while holding down a 37.4/37.3 rebounding advantage.

Louisiana is paced by sophomore guard Jaylin Gordon, who leads the team in scoring, at 13.8 points-per-game, and junior guard Kia Wilridge, who is second on the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists at 13.0, 4.8, and 2.8, respectively.

The Red Wolves are out-scoring the opposition, 71.8/63.2, and out-shooting foes, 45.3%/40.8%, while being out-rebounded, 36.8/35.6.

Arkansas St. is paced by junior guard Aundrea Gamble, who is averaging 20.3 points, to go along with 5.3 rebounds a contest, and junior forward Khadija Brown-Haywood, who is averaging 11.0 points and 5.2 rebounds-per-game.

Arkansas St. leads the all-time series, 45-13, with the two teams splitting the two-game series a season ago.
