Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team fell at home in non-conference action on Monday evening, dropping a 55-37 decision to the UC-Riverside Highlanders at Earl K. Long Gym.

The first half was close, as UC-Riverside led at the half, 24-23, but the Highlanders opened things up in the second half, outscoring Louisiana, 31-14, as they went on to the 18-point road win.

The Highlanders out-shot the Cajuns from the field, 42%-26%, and also out-rebounded UL by a 42-37 count.

UC-Riverside was led in scoring by Tre'Shon Nottingham and Akilah Martin, who scored 15 points each, while Sylvana Okde paced Louisiana in a losing cause, with 14 points.

With the victory, the Highlanders improved to 6-3 on the year, while the Cajuns fell to 5-5.

Louisiana returns to action on Wednesday, when they travel to New Orleans, to take on the Tulane Green Wave, in non-conference play.
