Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team fell on the road in Sun Belt Conference action on Wednesday evening, dropping a 53-39 decision to the South Alabama Lady Jaguars in a match-up played in Mobile, Alabama.

South Alabama led at the half, 29-21, and then went on to the 14-point victory.

The Lady Jaguars out-shot Louisiana from the field, 40%-30%, and also finished with a 38-26 rebound advantage.

Mary Nixon led the way for South Alabama, scoring a game-high 12 points, while Keke Veal paced the Cajuns in a losing cause, with 11 points.

With the victory, the Lady Jaguars improved to 14-11 overall, and 7-9 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Louisiana fell to 7-17 overall, and 1-14 in league play.

The Cajuns return to action on Saturday, hosting FAU in Sun Belt Conference play at the Cajundome.
