Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team picked up a non-conference victory on Monday night, defeating the Jackson St. Lady Tigers, 68-57, at Earl K. Long Gym.

Louisiana trailed at halftime, 28-21, but then outscored Jackson St., 47-29 in the second half, to capture the 11-point win.

The Lady Tigers out-shot UL from the field, 36%-33%, but the Cajuns out-rebounded Jackson St., 51-36, and also forced 25 turnovers.

Leading the way for Louisiana was freshman Keke Veal, who had 16 points, and six rebounds, with sophomore Byroneshia Santiago added 15 points, along with a game-high 13 rebounds, while Dominique Brothern paced Jackson St. in a losing cause, with 14 points.

With the win, the Cajuns improve to 4-4 on the year, while Jackson St. fell to 2-6.

Louisiana returns to action on Thursday evening, when they host UNO in non-conference play.
