UL Ticket Office Taking Ticket Applications For New Orleans Bowl

The UL ticket office is currently taking ticket applications for the 2014 R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, despite the fact that the bowl destination for Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun football team is still unknown.

UL Athletic Director Scott Farmer issued a statement on Monday, updating Cajun fans on the bowl situation.

Farmer points out that under the current bowl agreements in place with the Sun Belt Conference, the Cajuns will be considered for three bowls, including the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, the Raycom Camellia Bowl, and the GoDaddy Bowl.

But it's still a little more complicated, as they may still be considered for additional bowls,  due to the new College Football Playoff system, which makes it impossible for teams in consideration for these bowls to receive or accept an invitation until December 7.

Now, since the New Orleans Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, December 20, that leaves a short window of time to make tickets available to the public, which is why the university is accepting applications at this time.

Ticket order forms are currently available on-line at ragincajuns.com and will be emailed to RCAF donors, as well as season ticket holders.

Keep in mind, that this is for the New Orleans Bowl only, and in the event that Louisiana would accept a bid to another bowl, the application would be voided, and another process would take place.

Seating priority allocation will be based on the following:
• RCAF 2014 Annual Fund donation
• 2014 Football Season Ticket Holders
• Current UL students on a first-come, first-served basis in the Bowl "Red Zone"
• Alumni Association members
• General public on a first-come, first-served basis

The priority deadline for RCAF members is Friday, Dec. 5, at 6 pm.

Louisiana, who is 7-4 on the season, closes out their 2014 regular season schedule on Saturday, when they travel to Troy, Alabama to take on the Troy Trojans.
