The 17th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team stayed undefeated on the 2012 college softball season on Saturday, winning two games on the first day on play of the NFCA Leadoff Classic, in Clearwater, Florida.

UL defeated Mississippi St in their first game, 6-3, before edging Hofstra, 5-4.

The Cajuns scored five runs in the third inning, en route to their 6-3 win over Mississippi St.

Ashley Brignac pitched a complete game to move her record to 4-0.

With the win, Louisiana improved to 8-0, while Mississippi St. fell to 7-2.

In their second game of the day, UL jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning against Hofstra, and then held on for the 5-4 victory.

Freshman Jordan Wallace pushed her season record to a perfect 4-0.

With their second win of the day, the Cajuns improved to 9-0 on the season, while Hofstra fell to 0-4.

The Cajuns will play twice on Saturday, as they take on Boston University at noon, and Michigan at 5 o'clock.
