The 8th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team defeated the South Alabama Jaguars, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Lamson Park, completing a three-game, Easter weekend, Sun Belt Conference sweep.

The win marked the 21st-consecutive home victory of the year for Louisiana, and pushed their nation's best home win streak to 36-consecutive games, dating back to 2011.

The shutout was the third straight over the weekend for the UL pitching staff, who held South Alabama scoreless over 24 innings during the series.

The Cajuns scored two runs in the second inning, and added another run in the fifth on a solo home run by Matte Haack, who seventh of the year.

Freshman right-hander Jordan Wallace (18-0) pitched her second complete-game shutout of the series, allowing only two hits and one walk, while striking out seven over seven innings.

For the weekend, Wallace threw 17 scoreless innings, with only three walks, and 23 strikeouts.

Even better, Wallace combined with Ashley Briganc to throw 24 scoreless innings in the series, allowing only three walks, with 31 strikeouts.

Sophomore left-hander Hannah Campbell (14-8) suffered the loss for South Alabama.

The win was the fifth-straight for the Cajuns, who improved their overall record to 33-1, and their conference record to 8-1, while South Alabama fell to 24-12 overall, and 11-5 in league play.
