Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns softball team climbed a couple of spots in the latest ESPN.COM/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, which was released on Tuesday.

Louisiana, who won two of three games from then #5 Alabama over the weekend at Lamson Park, jumped from #18 last week to #16 this week.

The Cajuns dropped the opening game to the Crimson Tide, 3-0, before coming back to win the second game, 11-2, as well as the rubber game of the series, 7-0.

UL returns to action on Thursday, taking on Drake and Bowling Green in the first day of play in the Mardi Gras Invitational at Lamson Park.

The Florida St. Seminoles are the new top-ranked team in this week’s poll, followed by the Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, UCLA Bruins, and the Oklahoma Sooners to round out the top five.

Oregon is number six this week, while Washington, LSU, Arizona, and Alabama complete the top ten.

At 11-15 in this week’s poll, it’s Minnesota, Georgia, Michigan, and James Madison, with Louisiana, Utah, Texas A&M, Arizona St., and Pittsburgh at 16-20.

Finally, at 21-25, it’s California, Missouri, South Florida, Kentucky, and Baylor.
