The 5th-ranked Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun softball team returns to play on Saturday afternoon, when coach Michael Lotief's squad travels to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to take on the 4th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in a non-conference doubleheader.

First-pitch for game one of the Saturday twin-bill is scheduled for 1 o'clock.

The two teams will conclude the three-game, weekend, non-conference series with a single game on Sunday at 1 pm

The series marks the three games in a seven-game road trip for Louisiana, who doesn't return home until March 13.

The Cajuns are currently 14-0 on the season, after going 5-0 in the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational last weekend.

Offensively, Louisiana is hitting a .353, along with 28 home runs, 100 runs batted in, and 18 stolen bases in 25 attempts, while out-scoring foes, 100-7.

Pitching-wise, the Cajuns sport an overall, combined, team ERA. of 0.40, compared to a 8.65 for the opposition, while holding foes to a .121 batting average against.

Alabama will enter the match-up at 13-3.

The Crimson Tide is currently hitting a .338 as a team, along with seven homers, and 90 RBI’s, while out-scoring opponents, 30-35.

In the circle, Alabama currently has an overall, combined, team ERA. of 2.20, while holding opponents to a .201 batting average against.

The all-time series between the two schools is tied, 3-3.
