The sixth-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team swept a Sun Belt Conference doubleheader from the WKU Lady Toppers on Saturday in Bowling Green, Kentucky, winning the opening game, 4-1, before taking the nightcap, 2-1.

The two wins clinched the regular season Sun Belt Conference Championship for Louisiana, their 11th in the 12 year history of the sport in the league.

In the first game, UL trailed 1-0, before scoring four unanswered runs, with three in the fifth-inning, and one more in the sixth, to capture the three-run win.

Christi Orgeron belted her 19th homer of the year, and drove in her nation-leading 85th run.

Ashley Brignac (18-2) picked-up the win in the cirlce for the Cajuns, while Emily Rousseau (13-12) suffered the loss for the Lady Toppers.

In the nightcap, Louisiana got a two-run homer in the top half of the seventh-inning from second baseman Paige Cormier, and hung on for the win.

Jordan Wallace (22-0) kept her record spotless with the win, while Mallorie Sulaski (2-4) suffered the loss.

The UL sweep, coupled with the split of the doubleheader between South Alabama and FIU on Saturday means that the Cajuns clinch the outright league title, as well as the top seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, May 9-12, in Boca Raton, Florida.
