The 22nd-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team swept a Sun Belt Conference doubleheader from the Troy Trojans on Saturday at Lamson Park, winning the first game, 9-1, before taking the second game, 6-0.

The two wins extended Louisiana's season-long win streak to 18 games.

In the opener, Troy scored the first run of the game, plating a run in the top half of the first inning, before the Cajuns scored nine unanswered runs, with five runs in the second, and four in the third, as they went on the the five-inning, mercy-rule win.

Brianna Cherry led the way for UL, offensively, going 3-for-3, with a double, a triple, two runs scored, and four RBI's.

Jordan Wallace (23-6) picked up her 13th-consecutive victory in the circle, while Michaela Hamilton (5-6) suffered the loss.

In the nightcap, Louisiana scored one single runs in the second, third, and fourth innings, before putting things away with a three-run fifth-inning.

The Cajuns got solo home runs from Samantha Walsh and Kelsey Vincent, while Nerissa Myers went 2-for-4.

Victoria Brown (8-1) recorded the win, with Wallace securing her second save of the season, while Jaycee Affeldt (6-5) suffered the loss.

With the two wins, the Cajuns improved to 36-11, overall, and 15-4 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Troy fell to 20-29, overall, and 7-13 in league play.

The two teams will conclude their three-game series on Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock, at Lamson Park. The game will also represent the final home game of the year for Louisiana.
