The 20th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team swept a Sun Belt Conference doubleheader from the Texas St. Bobcats on Saturday at Lamson Park, winning the opening game, 5-2, before capturing the second game, 5-2.

The two wins extended Louisiana's win streak to nine games, while giving them 16 victories in their last 17 games.

In the first game, Natalie Fernandez, Lexie Elkins, Shellie Landry, and Corin Voinche collected two hits apiece, as the Cajuns out-hit the Bobcats, 12-4, en route to the three-run win.

Christina Hamilton (12-1) picked up the win, allowing four hits and two runs, while striking out 11.

Rayn House (16-11) was tabbed with the loss.

In the nightcap, Hayley Hayden and Samantha Walsh both homered, as Louisiana out-hit Texas St., 6-2, improving their home record to 13-4-1 on the season.

Jordan Wallace (10-2) recorded the victory for UL, allowing only two hits and two runs, while striking out ten.

Ashley Wright suffered the loss for the Bobcats.

With the two wins, Louisiana improved to 24-6-1, overall, and 5-0 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Texas St. fell to 19-17, overall, and 2-3 in league play.
