The 8th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team swept a Sun Belt Conference doubleheader from the South Alabama Jaguars on Friday at Lamson Park, winning the first game in ten innings, 1-0, before taking the nightcap, 2-0.

In the opener, Brianna Cherry singled home Christi Orgeron in the bottom half of the tenth inning to give UL the 1-0 win.

Freshman right-hander Jordan Wallace (17-0) kept her personal record spotless on the year, picking up the win while throwing ten shutout innings, and striking out a career-high 16 batters.

In the second game, Orgeron drove in her 61st and 62 rbi's in the first innings, scoring Katie Smith and Nerissa Myers, for the only two runs of the game.

Senior right-hander Ashley Brignac (12-1) twirled a shutout, allowing only three hits, with no walks, while striking out eight.

With the two wins, Louisiana improves to 32-1 overall, and 7-1 in Sun Belt Conference play, while South Alabama fell to 24-11 overall, and 11-4 in league play.

The two teams will wrap-up their three-game series on Saturday after at Lamson Park, with first-pitch scheduled for noon.
