UL Softball Ranked #23 In Latest USA Today/NFCA Softball Poll
Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun softball team remains at #23 this week’s USA Today/NFCA top 25 poll, which was released on Tuesday.
Louisiana, who defeated Lamar, 14-3, in their only game last week, is currently 15-5-1 on the season.
The Cajuns return to action on Friday night, when they host #19 Oklahoma, the defending national champions, in the opening game of a three-game series at Lamson Park.
Florida, who is 24-7, received 27 of a possible 32 first-place votes, and remains the top-ranked team.
Oregon, who received two first-place votes, and who is 18-2 on the season, is ranked second, with UCLA, who received three first-place votes, and who is currently 23-1 on the season, ranked third.
Tennessee, at 21-2, and Washington, at 19-4, are ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, and round out the top five.
At 6-10, it’s Arizona, Arizona St., Michigan, Kentucky, and Alabama.
The second ten consists of Florida St., Baylor, Texas A&M, South Alabama, and Georgia at 11-15, and Missouri, Nebraska, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Tulsa at 16-20.
Finally, at 21-25, it’s Stanford, Notre Dame, Louisiana, Auburn, and Northwestern.
LSU and USC Upstate dropped out of the poll from a week ago.
