UL Softball Pitcher Summer Ellyson Named Sun Belt Pitcher Of The Week

Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball pitcher Summer Ellyson was lights out in the circle last week.

The sophomore threw 25 innings, recording 4 victories, a 0.28 ERA, and threw 22 consecutive innings without allowing a run.

For her efforts, she was named the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week today.

It's the second time this season the Teurlings Catholic alum has earned the weekly conference honors, taking home the award back in February with stellar performances against nationally ranked Oregon State and Florida.

Other Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softballers who have received Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honors this season are Kourtney Gremillion and Kylee Jo Trahan.
