UL Softball Opens Fall Play Against Galveston College

Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team opens fall play on Saturday, when they play host to Galveston College at Lamson Park.

The game, which will serve as the team's Breast Cancer Awareness Game, will be the first of four fall match-ups that Louisiana will host during the month of October, including games against the National Pro Fastpitch All-Star Team (Oct. 18), McNeese St. (Oct. 25) and LSU-Eunice (Oct. 29).

The Cajuns will also face Florida St. on November 2 in Gulfport, Mississippi, and then wrap-up fall play on November 11 with the annual alumni game at Lamson Park.

UL will begin their 2015 regular season schedule on February 6, when they play host to North Carolina St. in the first day of play in the Louisiana Classic.

There is no admission to Saturday's game, but fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness.

First-pitch is scheduled for 1 o'clock.
