UL Softball Hosts Troy – Inside The Numbers
The 7th-ranked Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun softball team returns to the diamond on Saturday afternoon, when coach Michael Lotief’s squad plays host to the Troy Trojans in a Sun Belt Conference doubleheader at Lamson Park.
Saturday's twinbill, whick will kickoff a series-ending nine-game homestand, will mark the first two games of a three-game, weekend Sun Belt Conference series between the two squads.
The series will also mark the final stretch of nine games over a ten-day timespan for the Cajuns.
First-pitch for the doubleheader on Saturday is scheduled for 2 o’clock.
The two teams will conclude the series with a single game on Sunday at noon.

The Cajuns are currently 23-3, overall, and 8-1 in Sun Belt Conference play, after sweeping two consecutive series' from the UT-Arlington Mavericks and the Georgia Southern Eagles Lamson Park.
Offensively, Louisiana is hitting a .338, along with 45 home runs, 176 runs batted in, and 43 stolen bases in 52 attempts, while out-scoring foes, 202-33.
Pitching-wise, the Cajuns sport an overall, combined, team ERA. of 1.16, compared to a 7.96 for the opposition, while holding foes to a .149 batting average against.
Troy, who has won four-straight, including a conference sweep over Appalachian St. last weekend, as well as a non-conference win over Florida St. earlier this week, will enter the match-up at 17-12, overall, and 3-3 in league play.
The Trojans are currently hitting a .271 as a team, along with 25 homers, and 146 RBI’s, while being out-scored by opponents, 171-129.
In the circle, Troy currently has an overall, combined, team ERA. of 4.02, while holding opponents to a .279 batting average against.
Louisiana leads the all-time series, 26-4, and will bring a 27-game home field win streak into the series.
