Louisiana's  Ragin' Cajun softball team will face a stiff challenge to open their 2013 fall schedule, when they play host to the USSSA Pride of the National Professional Fastpitch league in an exhibition game, scheduled for Sunday, September 29 at Lamson Park.

The Pride's roster boasts some of the best talents in the world, including former Olympians Cat Osterman, Kelly Kretschman, Natasha Watley, Lauren Lappin, and Caitlin Lowe.  Their roster also consists of rookies and 2013 All-Americans Blaire Luna, Jessica Shults and Keilani Ricketts.
The game against the Pride, which is scheduled for a 3 o'clock first pitch, will be the the first of six home games that the Cajuns will play in the fall, with other match-ups against LSU-Alexandria (Oct. 12), Lamar (Oct. 13), Galveston (Oct. 19) and LSU-Eunice (Oct. 23), as well as an alumni game on November 9.

In addition to the home games in the fall, Louisiana will also travel to Houston for the Spring Klein College Fall Classic on October 5, and McNeese State on October 26.

Last year, the Cajuns went 47-15, and advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals, the second consecutive year they made it to a Super Regional, and their third appearance in the last four years.
