Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team picked up a major commitment recently, with catcher Miranda Grotenhuis, of Atascocita High School of Humble, Texas giving her verbal pledge to coach Michael Lotief's program.

Grotenhuis, a power hitter who plays travel ball for Impact Gold of Texas, had previously committed to Alabama. She is expected to play for Louisiana, beginning in the 2015 season.

Miranda played for her dad, James Grotenhuis, at MacArthur High School in Houston Texas for two years, before going with him to Atascocita High School.

Grotenhuis, a .500 in each of her high school seasons, can also play first base, as well as third base. She is ranked as one of the top softball players in Texas heading into her senior season.

The Cajuns, who went 47-15 and qualified for an NCAA Super Regional last year, have been to back-to-back Super Regionals, and have qualified for one in three of the last four years.

Below, we see Grotenhuis blasting a home run for her select team. Hopefully, we'll see a lot of these from her in a Cajun uniform.
