The 15th-ranked Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun softball team was swept in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday, falling to the 10th-ranked Texas Longhorns, by scores of 9-4, and 7-1, in Austin, Texas.

In the opener, Louisiana jumped on top first, as Matte Haack blasted a two-run homer in the top of the first inning, giving them a quick 2-0 lead.

After Texas came right back in the bottom half of the inning, scoring three runs, on four hits, the Cajuns tied it in the top of the second inning, on a solo homer by freshman Sara Corbello, the first of her college career.

The Longhorns took over from there, scoring six unanswered runs, including four in the fourth, and two in the sixth, to go on to the five-run victory.

Blaire Luna (10-0) recorded the win in the opener, while Kristen Martinez (2-2) suffered the loss.
