The seventh-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team picked-up a conference win on Wednesday, defeating the FIU Panthers, 6-0, in the rubber game of a three-game, Sun Belt Conference series in Miami, Florida.

Louisiana jumped on top with two runs in the third inning, and then added four unearned runs in the top of the seventh, for the 6-0 win.

UL was led at the plate by outfielder Brianna Cherry, who went  1-for-4, with a run scored, and two rbi's.

Senior right-hander Ashley Brignac (13-2) recorded the win for the Cajuns, throwing a complete-game, three-hit shutout, while walking three, and striking out foour.

Mariah Dawson (15-10) suffered the loss for the Panthers.

With the win, Louisiana improves to 35-2 overall, and 10-2 in Sun Belt Conference play, while FIU fell to 20-18 overall, and 8-5 in league play.
