The seventh-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team completed a three-game, weekend, Sun Belt Conference sweep of the FAU Owls on Sunday, winning 9-1, at Lamson Park.

Louisiana won the game in six innings, marking the third-consecutive game that they defeated FAU in mercy-rule fashion.

Christi Orgeron belted a two-run home run in the first inning, to give UL a 2-0 lead. The homer was Orgeron's third of the series, and 18th of the season.

The Cajuns added two more runs in the fourth inning, including a solo homer by Nerissa Myers, increasing her weekend RBI total to 11.

In the fifth inning, Paige Cormier blasted a three-run homer, giving Louisiana a 7-1 advantage.

UL ended things in the sixth inning, with two runs, to win it in mercy-rule style.

Ashley Brignac (17-2) got the in in the circle of the Cajuns, with Jordan Wallace recording her first save, while Paige Pender (5-5) suffered the loss for the Owls.

With the win, Louisiana improved to 41-2 overall, and 16-2 in Sun Belt Conference play, while FAU fell to 13-32 overall, and 3-13 in league play.
