The 15th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team won their third-consecutive game on Friday night, defeating Mississippi Valley St., 13-2, in five-inning, mercy rule fashion, in the the first game of the 27th Annual Louisiana Classics at Lamson Park.

Louisiana dominated early, plating four runs without recording a hit, to make it 4-0.

Senior outfielder Brianna Cherry recorded the first hit for the Cajuns, blasting a solo home run to jump-start a six-run second inning.

Myers and Cherry, along with Shellie Landry and Sara Corbello all had two RBI's apiece, while Myers collected two hits in the route.

In the circle sophomore Christina Hamilton got the start, followed by Victoria Brown and Kristin Martinez.

Hamilton tossed 2.0 shutout-innings, while allowing one hit and a walk and striking out one, while Brown pitched the next two innings, allowing two unearned runs on one hit and a walk, and Martinez struck out the side in the fifth, to close out the game for the Cajuns.

The Cajuns play twice on Saturday, at 1 o'clock against Texas St., and at 3:30 pm against  Mississippi Valley State.
