Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun softball team is down, three spots, to number seven, in the second college softball ratings percentage index (RPI) rankings, was released by the NCAA on Monday.

Louisiana lost all three of their games last week, getting swept in a three-game non-conference series by the top-ranked Florida Gators, in Gainesville, Florida over the weekend.

The Cajuns are currently 32-6, overall, and 13-1 in conference play.

This week, Louisiana travels to Lake Charles to take on the McNeese St. Cowgirls in a non-conference match-up on Wednesday night, before hosting Appalachian St. in a Sun Belt Conference series on Saturday and Sunday at Lamson Park.

Florida, who won three games against Louisiana last weekend, tops the RPI rankings again this week. followed by Michigan, California, Alabama, and Auburn in the top five.

Washington is ranked sixth, followed by Louisiana, James Madison, Oregon, and Florida St. at 6-10, respectively.

The second ten this week consists of Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, UCLA, and LSU in spots 11-15, with Texas A&M, Baylor, Fresno St., Georgia, and Arizona in the 16-20 positions.

Finally, at 21-25 this week, it’s USF, Minnesota, Notre Dame, and UCF.

In the Sun Belt Conference, Louisiana ranks first, followed by South Alabama (40), Texas St. (47), Georgia St. (52), Troy (66), UT-Arlington (66), Georgia Southern (102), ULM (158), and Appalachian St. (225).
