Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun softball team remains at number five in the latest USA Today/NFCA Coaches poll, which was released on Tuesday.

Louisiana won three of their four games last week, defeating McNeese St. in non-conference action last Wednesday, before winning 2-of-3 games in a Sun Belt Conference series against UT-Arlington over the weekend.

Sunday's loss to the Mavericks snapped UL's 16-game win streak.

The Cajuns are currently 22-2, overall, and 4-1 in conference play.

This weekend , Louisiana travels to Troy, Alabama to take on the Troy Trojans in a three-game league series, with a doubleheader on Friday (3 pm), followed by a single game on Saturday (noon).

The Florida Gators, who are 30-1 on the season, remain the top team in the poll.

Louisiana will travel to Gainesville, Florida to take on the Gators in a three-game series, April 16-17.

Michigan is ranked second this week, followed by Auburn at number three, Oregon in the four spot, and Louisiana fifth.

Florida was a unanimous top pick, receiving all 32 first-place votes.

Alabama is ranked sixth, followed LSU, Texas A&M, James Madison, and Washington at 7-10, respectively.

The second ten this week consists of Florida St., Georgia, UCLA, and Kentucky in spots 11-15, with Missouri, Tennessee, Arizona, Notre Dame, and Baylor in the 16-20 positions.

Finally, at 21-25 this week, it’s Arizona St., Minnesota, Florida Atlantic, Nebraska, and Fresno St.
