Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun softball team is down one spot, to number eleven, in this week’s RPI (ratings performance index) rakings, which were released by the NCAA on Monday.

These are the last RPI rankings before the NCAA Regionals begin this week.

Louisiana, who is 39-9 on the season, will host the Lafayette, La. Regional this weekend at Lamson Park, which will feature UL, Baylor, Mississippi St., and Weber St.

The Cajuns, who won the regular season Sun Belt Conference title, their 13th in the last 15 years, fell to South Alabama, 2-0, in the tournament championship game on Saturday, after wins over Georgia St. (10-2) an South Alabama (6-3) on the first two days.

Three SEC schools, Florida, LSU, and Auburn are ranked 1-3 this week, while Oregon checks in at number four, with Michigan rounding out the top five.

Alabama is number six, followed by UCLA, Florida St., UCLA, Tennessee and Missouri, at 7-10, respectively.

Louisiana begins the second ten, at number 11, with James Madison, Hofstra, Oklahoma, and UCF in spots 12-15.

At 16-20, it’s Arizona, Georgia, Minnesota, Notre Dame, and California.

Arizona St., Baylor, Kansas, Texas A&M, and Kentucky round out the top 25 of this week’s RPI rankings.

The respective RPI’s for the eight Sun Belt Conference schools has Louisiana (11th overall) first, with South Alabama (28th overall) second, followed  by Georgia St. (42nd overall), Troy (61st overall), Texas St. (67th overall), ULM (74th overall), UT-Arlington (138th overall), Georgia Southern (158th overall), and Appalachian St. (192nd overall).
